Responsible Party

About Responsible Party

"Responsible Party" is a pan-European awareness campaign created by Pernod Ricard as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility policy. « Responsible Party » is also the Pernod Ricard commitment at the European Alcohol and Health Forum.

The goal of the program is to raise awareness among students on responsible drinking and to contribute to the reduction of excessive and inappropriate consumption of alcohol among young adults.

The program is composed of a toolkit containing prevention and information tools (breathalyzers, BAC estimators, info flyers, the website) so that students can make informed decision when they decide to party and drink alcohol. Additional promotion items (gadgets/videos/Facebook page etc.) support the prevention campaign.

The main messages of the program expressed through posters (created in cooperation with Publicis) are: moderate consumption / don't drink and drive / don't imitate your friends / eat before the party / alternate with soft drinks.

"Responsible Party" is designed to help student associations organize safe and responsible parties. Student parties' organizers become Ambassadors of Responsible Party by promoting responsible drinking rules and tips among student during parties. Currently, the main Pernod Ricard partner for the implementation of the program is Erasmus Student Network (ESN).

So far, 38 parties have been organized in 17 countries reaching more than 26 000 students.

The program is evaluated by an independent third party – the Generation Europe Foundation.
